JetBlue Airways has set up an interline agreement with South African (SAA) that will enable customers to purchase a single itinerary for travel from both carriers.
The interline agreement connects JetBlue travellers at New York's JFK International airport with 40 cities in South Africa. Tickets go on sale 12 May.
"There are lots of travellers flying to South Africa and southern Africa that originate in many of the cities JetBlue currently serves," said EVP North America Marc Cavaliere. "We had numerous requests from our customers expressing an interest in being able to easily connect to SAA's flights at JFK."
Cavaliere says the new agreement is "just in time" for the upcoming world soccer championship in South Africa.
