JetBlue Airways will begin service to Albany International airport in late 2015, adding the capital of New York state to its network.

The New York City-based carrier declines to comment on where it will fly from Albany but says that flights to its focus cities in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando are likely.

If JetBlue opts to begin service to either city from Albany, it would compete with Southwest Airlines on both routes, Innovata schedules show.

The airline flies to Buffalo, Newburgh, New York JFK, New York LaGuardia, Rochester, Syracuse and White Plains in New York state.
