Low-cost carrier Jetstar Asia plans launch a daily service between Melbourne and Beijing, via Singapore from 24 November.
The Melbourne-Singapore-Beijing service, which is subject to government approval, will add over 8,000 seats every week from across the Jetstar network to Singapore, where they will join the flight to Beijing at Changi Airport, said the carrier.
This will be the airline's ninth scheduled service to a Chinese destination after Hangzhou, Guilin, Ningbo, Shantou and Haikou, added Jetstar Asia.
The schedules in Innovata show that Air China operates four-times-weekly flights between Melbourne and Beijing, using Airbus A330 aircraft. Both Air China and Singapore Airlines offer services on the Singapore-Beijing route.
