Jetstar Japan has entered a codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines (JAL) and an interline agreement with Qantas.
The agreement between Jetstar Japan and JAL will enable JAL customers flying internationally to Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai and Nagoya Chubu airports to book onward flights on the low-cost carrier's domestic services.
Jetstar Japan's interline agreement with Qantas, meanwhile, will allow the selling of through-fares and itineraries, starting March. Qantas is also planning to codeshare with Jetstar Japan as the Australian carrier's network and connection options expand over the next year.
The new agreements will also see Jetstar Japan services being added to JAL and Qantas frequent flyer programmes. This will allow JAL frequent flyers to use their mileage on Jetstar Japan services, while Qantas frequent flyers will be able to earn points when buying Jetstar Japan's "Plus" or "Max" fares.
