Australia's Jetstar plans to start a twice-daily service between Melbourne's Tullamarine International Airport and Brisbane from 1 July 2010.

It will operate an Airbus A320 on the route, says the low-cost carrier.

Jetstar already operates twice-daily services between Melbourne's Avalon airport and Brisbane, and the Qantas subsidiary says that this will continue.

It will compete on Melbourne-Tullamarine to Brisbane route with Qantas and Virgin Blue, according to Innovata.
