Jetstar will launch new flights between Melbourne and Phuket and suspend its services from Singapore to Beijing and Osaka.
The new Melbourne-Phuket service will launch on 14 December, and will initially be operated twice weekly. It will add a third weekly flight from March 2014, and all services will be operated using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
"We see a lot of customers booking flights to Phuket via Sydney or Singapore so we have decided to add a nonstop flight for Victorians," says Jetstar Group chief commercial officer David Koczkar.
Innovata schedules show that Jetstar will be the sole operator on the Melbourne-Phuket route.
The airline will also add one weekly frequency on its services from Melbourne to Singapore and Honolulu, starting 18 and 19 December respectively. They will also be operated by A330s.
Jetstar has also announced that it will suspend its four times weekly services between Singapore and Osaka from 1 November and thrice weekly services between Singapore and Beijing from 30 November.
