Korean Air (KAL) and Uzbekistan Airways have started codesharing on flights between Seoul and Tashkent.
Uzbekistan Airways says in a statement that the codeshare agreement covers their combined five flights per week on the route. It took effect last month.
KAL launched services to Tashkent last year and operates three flights per week while Uzbekistan Airways has two flights per week to Seoul.
The South Korean carrier has been increasing ties to Uzbekistan. Last year it agreed to help Uzbekistan Airways join SkyTeam, secured management rights for an airport in the south of Uzbekistan and agreed to lease freighter aircraft to Uzbekistan Airways.
