Boeing has secured Kenya Airways and Angolan carrier TAAG as customers for its Maintenance Performance Toolbox.
The Toolbox is a suite of software products allowing a carrier to develop a tailored solution for a specific need.
Kenya Airways will use the tools suite for its 737, 767 and 777 fleets, with the 737 and 777 aircraft using three modules - library authoring, and systems. The carrier plans to use the library module on its 767s.
TAAG is using four modules on its 737s and 777s - library, authoring, systems and structures.
With the library module, carriers store and access current and consolidated manufacturer and maintenance data, while the authoring module supplies an airline the ability to customise maintenance information to its own systems.
The structures module supplies a comprehensive structural repair history for each aircraft, and the systems tool cuts the time necessary to locate tail-specific technical information during trouble shooting situations.
