Kenya Airways has leased an additional Boeing 767-300ER as an interim capacity measure following delays to the Boeing 787 programme.
The flag-carrier has nine 787s on order but says that setbacks to the type's development have "necessitated" the 767 lease.
It has taken the 767 - registered 5Y-KYY - from US lessor International Lease Finance (ILFC), adding that it will replace an older aircraft whose lease expired earlier this year.
Kenya Airways says the lease term is 18 months. The jet has 20 business-class and 215 economy-class seats, and brings the fleet to 26 aircraft.
