Kenya Airways is leasing a Boeing 737-300 from affiliate SkyTeam partner KLM to provide additional regional capacity.

The aircraft will be used primarily on the route between Nairobi and Mombasa, says Kenya Airways.

Chief operating officer Bram Steller says that the aircraft will carry a temporary livery for an initial two months before being rebranded in the airline's full colour scheme. It will bear the registration 5Y-KYM.

Kenya Airways recently opted to increase its regional capacity by leasing a pair of Embraer 190s having already taken its Embraer fleet to five jets. The airline has 28 aircraft in total.
