Last week's fire at Jomo Kenyatta International airport has cost Kenya Airways $4 million in lost revenues, says the airline's chief executive Titus Naikuni.

He adds that the flag carrier is now operating about 90% of its normal schedule and is focused on clearing a backlog of delayed passengers.

On 7 August, Kenya Airways was forced to cancel all flights from Nairobi after a fire broke out in the airport's international arrivals building.

The airline was able to resume a partial domestic and international service the next day, operating from the airport's domestic terminal.
