Kenya Airways is entering a codeshare agreement with East African Airlines on the trunk route between Kenya and Uganda.

The Kenyan flag-carrier operates four daily flights between the capital cities Nairobi and Entebbe.

“This codeshare will enhance a fruitful co-operation that makes a substantial contribution to the economy and [provides] a conducive access to the rest of the world – especially to Uganda, a land-locked country,” says Kenya Airways in a statement.

It adds that the arrangement will allow the carriers to “feed each other’s network” and provide greater flexibility  in departure times.

Both airlines have formed market co-ordination committees through which senior managers from each carrier will help to harmonise sales and distribution.
