KLM plans to send within the next month a request for proposals for financing of a new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
The Dutch carrier is looking at US Export-Import Bank-supported financing as well as commercial debt proposals, according to a banking source.
The 777-300ER delivery is scheduled for April 2013.
KLM operates seven 777-300ERs in its fleet. It took delivery of one new aircraft this year and mandated Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Banking (CA-CIB) to arrange a 12-year enhanced finance lease combined with an Ex-Im loan. The Ex-Im loan was jointly arranged by Apple Bank for Savings and CA-CIB.
