KLM is to launch service from Amsterdam Schiphol to Havana's José Martí International Airport in Cuba.

The carrier will operate the route three times a week from 31 October using Boeing MD-11 aircraft.

According to Innovata schedules, Air France-KLM subsidiary Martinair operates Boeing 767 flights on the Amsterdam-Havana route. However, it was announced last year that Martinair would axe its passenger business in late 2011 and KLM would take over some of its services.
