Russia's Kolavia (Kogalym Avia) has contracted Turkish Technic to provide a C check for one of its two Airbus A320s.
The aircraft will be serviced in Istanbul next month. Aside from the two European narrowbodies, the Surgut-based carrier has two Tupolev Tu-134As, four Tu-154Ms, one Tu-154B-2 and three Bombardier Challenger 850 aircraft. However, the Tu-154B-2 has been grounded after Kolavia lost another of the type in a fatal fire at Surgut on 1 January, which killed three occupants. Russian transport authorities subsequently ordered the grounding of all Tu-154B tri-jets.
