Kuwaiti start-up Wataniya Airways has disclosed more of its initial route network, which will feature services to Beirut and Bahrain.

The airline unveiled Dubai as its first destination last month and will begin flights in late January 2009.

It will begin services to Beirut and Bahrain in March once its second leased Airbus A320 arrives.

Wataniya Airways chairman Abdul Salam Al-Bahar says the two cities are "natural" destinations because they have historic ties with Kuwait and are "special gateways" in the region.
