Kyrgyzstan clears Baltic Aviation Academy for A320 training

Vilnius, Lithuania-based Baltic Aviation Academy has been approved by Kyrgyzstan's civil aviation authority to use its Airbus A320 full flight simulator for type rating courses for crews from the CIS country.

"The Kyrgyzstan aviation market currently is in a developing process and is demanded to raise safety regulations to the European level," said the academy's chief executive Egle Vaitkeviciute.

The certificate follows an earlier, respective approval by the civil avition authorities of Kazakhstan and Ukraine which cleared the campus to conduct Boeing 737 type rating training.

Operations by all Kyrgyz carriers remain blacklisted by the European Commission.
