French all-business class start-up Dreamjet launched service between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Newark Liberty International airport today.
The carrier is initially operated twice-weekly flights on the route under the La Compagnie brand with a Boeing 757-200 outfitted with 74 lie-flat seats. Flights will increase to four-times weekly in August, to six-times weekly in September and to daily in November.
La Compagnie previously planned to launch flights on 11 July. It received US Department of Transportation approval to begin flights at the end of June.
The airline competes with Delta Air Lines and United Airlines on the Paris Charles de Gaulle-Newark route, Innovata schedules show. British Airways-owned OpenSkies flies between Paris Orly and Newark.
La Compagnie operates from terminal 1 at Paris Charles de Gaulle and terminal B at Newark.
