LAN has chosen Airbus' Space-Flex PRM lavatory option for its new Airbus A320 aircraft.

The Space-Flex offering is configured to allow more passenger room in the aircraft and provides the possibility of adding more revenue seats.

Two of the lavatories fit in the back of the cabin, which can be combined through a modification to provide an accessible lavatory for persons with reduced mobility. Each lavatory is comparable to the standard A320 lavatory size.

"We are pleased to offer our passengers an innovative lavatory on the LAN new A320 family aircraft," says Fernanda Toro, travel experience director for LAN. "Space-Flex allows us to maximise the cabin, using space in the aircraft that was previously unused, while providing more flexibility."

The announcement follows a previous commitment from launch customer TAM in July, which chose to outfit 39 new A320s with the lavatory for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2013.

LAN and TAM closed on their merger earlier this year to be LATAM Airlines Group.
