LAN Peru has incorporated its first Airbus A320 with sharklets, and will begin replacing some Airbus A319s in its fleet with the new aircraft.
The Peruvian subsidiary of LATAM Airlines Group will add eight A320s to its fleet by end-2013, five of which will be equipped with sharklets, it says. These aircraft will replace eight A319s.
At the end of the year, LAN Peru will operate 25 A320 family aircraft and 13 Boeing 767s with an average fleet age of five years.
LAN Peru's new A320 comes out of a LATAM order for 100 A320 family aircraft equipped with sharklets that will be delivered through 2017. The first such aircraft was received by the airline group in April.
