LAN Peru mechanics have postponed a strike they had planned to carry out on 26-27 June, to 28 June.
The postponement follows a meeting between LATAM Airlines Group's union leaders and Peru's labour ministry on 24 June. LAN Peru is a subsidiary of LATAM.
"By this date [28 June] the assembly of workers will have been presented with the proposal for working conditions and the workers will have decided whether to sign or to immediately take strike and legal solidarity action," says ITF LATAM, a group of unions representing workers at LATAM.
LAN Peru mechanics have threatened for weeks that they would go on strike on 26-27 June, and have gathered support from unionised staff at the other LATAM airlines.
The airline has said it expects to operate flights normally even if the strike happens.
The group of 180 mechanics are requesting better salaries in negotiations with the airline over their work contract.
