LAN traffic grows 14% in August

Chilean airline group LAN has reported a 14.1% growth in passenger traffic for August.

Capacity was up 12.7%, leading to a 0.9 percentage point growth in the load factor to 78.7%.

International passenger traffic rose 10.7%, and international capacity grew 9.6%, said LAN. The international load factor increased 0.8 percentage point to 79%.

Domestic passenger traffic grew 21.8% and capacity increased 19.8%. The domestic load factor rose 1.3 percentage point to 78.1%.

On the cargo front, traffic grew 9.9% and capacity was up 11%, said LAN. The cargo load factor fell 0.7 percentage point to 67.8%.
