LATAM Airlines Group could close its first export credit agency-(ECA) backed bond in December with a minimum of three Airbus A320 aircraft, according to a financier.

The carrier signed a $220 million ECA facility earlier this year with BNP Paribas covering six A320 aircraft. Development Bank of Japan and Banc of America acted as debt participants in the facility.

The facility is backed by the UK's Export Credit Guarantee Department and includes a guaranteed bond option.
