LATAM traffic down 1.1% in April

LATAM Airlines group has posted a 1.1% decrease in traffic in April compared with the same period in 2012.

Capacity increased 0.1% and the load factor fell 0.9 percentage points to 77%.

Domestic passenger traffic in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia rose 12.3%, as capacity increased 16%, resulting in a 2.5 percentage point decrease in the domestic load factor to 74.6%.

Domestic passenger traffic in Brazil fell 6.9%, as capacity decreased 11.7%, which resulted in a 3.8 percentage point increase in load factor to 73.3%.

International passenger traffic fell 0.6%, with capacity up 5%, resulting in a 4.5 percentage point fall in the international load factor to 80.2%. International traffic includes the international operations of both LAN and TAM on regional and long haul routes.

Cargo traffic for LATAM Airlines Group rose 10% against capacity growth of 7.1%. The cargo load factor rose by 1.6 percentage points to 61.2%.
