LATAM Airlines group has posted a 10% increase in traffic in December 2012 compared with the same period in 2011.
Capacity increased 7.4% while the load factor rose 1.8 percentage points to 78.2%.
Domestic passenger traffic in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia rose 10.6%, as capacity increased 11.6%, resulting in a 0.7 percentage point decrease in the domestic load factor to 78.1%.
Domestic passenger traffic in Brazil rose 10.5%, as capacity decreased 3.7%, which resulted in a 10.5 percentage points increase in load factor to 81.9%.
International passenger traffic rose 9.6%, with capacity up 15%, resulting in a 3.7 percentage point fall in the international load factor to 75.7%. International traffic includes the international operations of both LAN and TAM on regional and long haul routes.
Cargo traffic for LAN increased by 3.1%, while capacity grew 5.5%. The cargo load factor fell by 1.4 percentage points to 61.3%.
