LATAM traffic up 4.2% in February

LATAM Airlines group has posted a 4.2% increase in traffic in February compared with the same period in 2012.

Capacity increased 1.5% while the load factor rose two percentage points to 78.1%.

Domestic passenger traffic in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia rose 9.3%, as capacity increased 8.6%, resulting in a 0.5 percentage points increase in the domestic load factor to 82.7%.

Domestic passenger traffic in Brazil rose 2.4%, as capacity decreased 11.9%, which resulted in a 10.5 percentage points increase in load factor to 75.1%.

International passenger traffic rose 3.8%, with capacity up 9.8%, resulting in a 4.5 percentage points fall in the international load factor to 78.7%. International traffic includes the international operations of both LAN and TAM on regional and long haul routes.

Cargo traffic for LAN increased by 0.6%, while capacity grew 3%. The cargo load factor fell by 1.3 percentage points to 55.6%.
