Newly-created Irish-based lessor Avolon has named Thomas Cook's aircraft maintenance head Lucas Mollan as its chief technical officer.
He joins the leasing company just four months after it began operating, during which time it has arranged the acquisition of 48 aircraft, says Avolon. Its portfolio includes Airbus A330s and A320s, and Boeing 737s.
In his previous position at Thomas Cook Aircraft Engineering, Mollan was responsible for maintenance provision to a fleet of more than 60 aircraft in the tour operator's different fleets.
His career also includes positions at other UK charter carriers as well as airframer Airbus.
