Irish-based helicopter lessor Waypoint Leasing has announced the appointment of six individuals to its management team to support its ongoing growth.

Ken Dowling has joined the lessor from AerCap where he held senior finance positions at the Dutch-based leasing company and Genesis Lease. Dowling will be Waypoint’s vice president of financial reporting and business planning.

Ex-Era Helicopters’ vice president Marc Schechter has joined as vice president of risk and analytics. He will be responsible for managing the company’s credit and transactional analysis.

The helicopter leasing company also recruited Robert Van de Vuurst as general counsel, Peter Dahm as strategic accounts executive, Dave Gorsky as vice president of operations and technical and Todd Wolynski as vice president of legal and associate general counsel.

The additions will make a substantial impact as the lessor seeks to grow the business and develop its platform through the execution of helicopter transactions, future financings and the addition of further employees, operations and infrastructure, says Waypoint.

Waypoint launched earlier this year, joining Milestone Aviation Group and Lease Corporation International in the helicopter leasing segment. Since Macquarie Helicopter Leasing has launched operations.

The lessor has tentative orders placed with AgustaWestland for a total of 41 helicopters, comprising four types ranging from the AW109 Grand New light twin, up to the super-medium AW189. However, Waypoint has not specified the exact make-up of the order, save for an intention to take one of each type beginning in early 2014.
