Toulouse-based systems supplier Liebherr-Aerospace has partnered with MRO provider Lufthansa Technik to share information for their respective aftermarket support activities.

The two companies have signed a long-term agreement to share repair and process documentation and maintenance know-how for a range of components across Liebherr's entire product line.

Liebherr manufactures and maintains air-management systems, flight-control and actuation equipment, and landing gears for all major airframers.

Last year, the Swiss-headquartered industrial group expanded its repair shop in Saline, Michigan, mainly to grow its landing-gear support business for Embraer regional jets.

German-based Lufthansa Technik began overhauling Embraer 170/190 landing gears at its US subsidiary Hawker Pacific Aerospace in Los Angeles earlier this year, and plans to build up the same capability at its Hamburg repair shop over the coming years.

Liebherr overhauls the same equipment at its manufacturing facility in Lindenberg, Germany.

Both companies say that their new partnership will offer "promising prospects for the development of customer service solutions".
