Indonesia's Lion Air launched a Surabaya-Singapore service on 16 December.

The low-cost carrier is using Boeing 737-900ER for the daily service and it plans to increase the service to twice daily in 2012, said Lion Air.

Schedules in Innovata shows Lion Air is competing with China Airlines, Silk Air and Jetstar Asia's subsidiary Valuair on the route.
