GMT Global Republic Aviation has hired Dana Lockhart to head its capital markets' activities. Lockhart's responsibilities will include raising financing to acquire  additional aircraft. He also will be charged with developing and managing relationships with GMT's lenders.

Launched this year to operate and expand the aviation business founded by Colorado-based Republic Financial Corp, GMT Global currently manages a fleet of 22 aircraft under lease to seven clients.

Lockhart previously worked for Airbus Americas in several roles, including a six-year stint as CFO and a nine-year turn as vice president of sales finance.

Before joining Airbus, Lockhart worked for Fairchild Credit Corporation and

divisions of Lockheed Corporation

"Dana's experience, both in financing strategy and deal negotiations, makes

him an ideal member of the GMT Global team," says Paul Mason, CEO of GMT

Global. "He will help us achieve our plans for growth as we continue to build

our global fleet of aircraft under lease."
