Loganair is to begin a new Dundee-London service on 30 March, replacing CityJet as the only operator on the route.
The Scottish regional carrier will operate a twice-daily weekday service to London Stansted. CityJet’s London City service ends in March.
A 32-seat Dornier 328 turboprop will be used to operate the new Loganair route, which is the result of weeks of negotiations between Dundee City Council, Transport Scotland and the airline, says Dundee airport operator Highlands and Islands Airports (HIAL).
“Efforts are continuing to secure a public service obligation that would ensure the long-term future of services between Dundee and London. However, this is a good solution for the city at this time, and we hope that business and leisure passengers will support the service,” says HIAL managing director Inglis Lyon.
