LOT Polish Airlines has approached the banking and leasing market for the financing of six Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
A banking source says the RFP may be divided into two transactions as the Polish carrier is looking at US Export Import guaranteed financing for the first four aircraft.
LOT is due to take delivery of its first 787 in November this year and will receive another aircraft in December. Next year, LOT is also scheduled to take one 787 in January and February and the remaining two in May and June.
The Polish carrier placed an order in 2005 for eight aircraft powered by Rolls Royce's Trent 1000-H1 engines.
