Polish flag-carrier LOT is intending to restore its Boeing 787 operation to Chicago on 5 June, following European and US clearance of a crucial battery fix for the type.

It will also open 787 services to Toronto on 7 June and, in July, open its flights to New York once it takes delivery of a third aircraft.

LOT has detailed the restoration of the 787 services in a promotional statement. The airline had agreed to lease Airbus A330 and Boeing 767 jets from Portuguese operators to supplement its capacity while the 787s were grounded over the battery problems.
