Lufthansa and sister group carrier Austrian Airlines have stopped flying to Libya due to the uncertain political climate.

Both carriers tell Flightglobal that they suspended flights to Tripoli on 5 February.

The airlines say that this is a result of recent political developments coupled with the tense security situation in the North African country.

Lufthansa Group subsidiary Swiss International Air Lines does not operate services to Libya.
