German flag-carrier Lufthansa is extending its new business jet shuttle operation to its main hub at Frankfurt, two months after initiating the service at Munich

The scheme, known as Lufthansa Private Jet, acts as an executive charter for passengers seeking rapid, on-demand personal connections to and from the airline’s hubs.

Lufthansa started the operation at Munich at the end of March but says that demand has been “higher than expected”.

As a result it has opted to expand the service to include Frankfurt with business aircraft operating to and from the city’s Egelsbach Airport. Private Jet passengers connecting from or to Lufthansa flights at Frankfurt Main are chauffeur-driven between the airports.

Services from Frankfurt are set to begin today. The scheme is conducted in partnership with corporate aircraft specialist NetJets and will give passengers access via business jet to over 1,000 airports in Europe.
