Lufthansa Group has recorded a 3.4% year-on-year increase in traffic for November on a 6.2% growth in capacity, leading to a 2 percentage point decline in its passenger load factor to 73.7%.
The total number of passengers carried by the group grew 4.6% to 8.18 million, compared with the same period a year earlier.
In the cargo business, traffic dropped 5.2% against a capacity decline of 3%. Cargo load factor fell to 69.8%, down 1.6 percentage points against the same period a year earlier.
Austrian and Lufthansa recorded the highest growth in traffic, with rises of 4.9% and 4% respectively, and passenger numbers increased 4.9% to 843,000 and 6.4% to 5.2 million.
Traffic at Swiss grew 2.2% on a 4% growth in capacity, leading to a 1.4 percentage point drop in load factor to 78%.
BMI continued its recent poor performance, recording a 5.3% decline in traffic with passenger numbers sliding 10.3% to 397,000. Capacity grew 1.3% which led to a 4.5 percentage point decline in load factor to 63.6%, said the group.
