Lufthansa is to launch flights to four new destinations and start another nine new routes as part of its summer schedule.

The new destinations are Palermo (which it will serve twice-weekly from Frankfurt and weekly from Munich), Trondheim (twice-weekly from Frankfurt), and Antalya and Ibiza (weekly from Munich).

Additionally, the nine new routes will be Dusseldorf-Bergen; Frankfurt-Bastia; Munich-Dublin and Munich-Malta, which will all be served weekly. There will also be twice-weekly services from Frankfurt to Genoa, Olbia, Split, Westerland/Sylt and Rostock/Laage.

Across its entire route network, Lufthansa is increasing available seat capacity by 11.3% compared to summer 2010. This is due to a combination of new aircraft such as Airbus A380s, of which eight will be in service by the end of the summer season in late October, and improved utilisation of existing aircraft.
