Macau International airport (MIA) handled 2 million passengers in the first half of 2012, an increase of 6.7% compared with the same period last year.
Aircraft movements for the first half of the year rose by 1.3% year on year to 19,400.
Traffic growth is mainly driven by the attribute of new airlines such as Vietnam Airlines and Mandarin Airlines, the airport said in a statement.
In June, MIA handled 357,000 passengers, a registered increase of 4% compared with the same period last year. However, aircraft movement dropped slightly by 1.3%, ending the month with a total of 3,270 aircraft movements.
