Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Bangkok Airways commenced their codesharing partnership on 25 March.

The two airlines are codesharing on selected domestic and international services, says Malaysia Airlines.

MAS will place its code on Bangkok Airways's services from Bangkok to Koh Samui, Phuket and Chiang Mai; and from Koh Samui to Phuket and Kuala Lumpur.

Bangkok Airways will place its code on MAS's services from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok and Phuket.

"We are delighted to begin this cooperation with Bangkok Airways which is fast growing into Thailand's premier domestic and regional airline," says MAS's senior vice-president for international affairs Germal Singh.

"The codeshare with Bangkok Airways also allows us to improve our Thailand product by offering seamless connectivity to these sought-after destinations whilst strengthening KLIA's [Kuala Lumpur International Airport's] position as a key gateway for travellers."
