Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has started codesharing with Oneworld alliance partner American Airlines on services to five US destinations.

From 25 March, MAS began placing its code on AA services to Chicago, Dallas, New York, Miami and Raleigh, which passengers can connect to through its European destinations of London, Paris and Frankfurt.

MAS says that the agreement allows it to offer 136 weekly options through its European destinations, and complements its eight weekly services to Los Angeles, which are operated from Kuala Lumpur via Tokyo.

MAS joined the Oneworld alliance on 1 February.
