Malaysia Airlines' (MAS) overall load factor increased by 7.2 percentage points to 76.9% in February.
Its domestic passenger load factor rose by 12.5 percentage points to 74.6% while its international passenger load factor grew by 6.4 percentage points to 77.1%.
The carrier's total passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose by 21.9%. Domestic RPKs went up by 29.6% and international RPKs grew by 21%.
The airline's overall capacity, as measured in ASKs, grew by 10.6%. Domestic capacity went up by 7.9%, while international capacity rose by 10.9%.
The carrier's total passenger numbers increased by 23.9% to 1.15 million. Its domestic passenger numbers rose by 27.5% to 428,000 and international passenger numbers increased by 21.9% to 723,000.
On the cargo front, MAS' freight traffic in load tonne kilometres rose by 12.3%. MAS' cargo capacity as measured in capacity tonne kilometres went up by 0.7%. The airline's freight load factor increased by 7.5 percentage points to 72.4%.
Comparisons with the previous corresponding period are affected by the extra day in February 2012, as a result of the leap year.
