Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will operate a daily service to Hong Kong with its Airbus A380s from 1 May.
The Oneworld carrier says that the three-class, 494-seat A380 will replace the Boeing 737-800 used on one of its twice daily Kuala Lumpur-Hong Kong services.
Innovata schedules show that MAS competes with AirAsia and Cathay Pacific on the route, although it codeshares on the latter's services.
Its A380s are used on twice daily services to London Heathrow and daily service to Paris. The carrier previously indicated that it would also operate A380s to Tokyo Narita and Beijing, but has not made any announcements as to when those services may start.
Flightglobal Pro data shows that MAS has a fleet of six A380s, which are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines.
