Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB) has posted an attributable net profit of ringgit (M$) 113 million ($35.8 million) in the third quarter of 2013, a marginal 0.2% fall year on year.
MAHB’s revenue for the quarter grew by 29% to M$973 million from M$754 million a year earlier, the company said in a Bursa Malaysia filing.
The company’s operating profit fell by 6.6% to M$159 million from M$170 million a year earlier, while its profit before tax and zakat (tithe) fell by 13% to M$151 million.
Revenue from airport operations for the quarter, excluding construction revenue, grew by 17%. This was as a result of a higher aeronautical revenue. This was driven by the higher passenger numbers and aircraft movements recorded, as well as an increase in landing charges.
Passenger movements at its airports increased by 23% in the third quarter for 2013, while for the nine-month period ending 30 September, the figure went up by 17%.
