Malaysia’s KLIA passenger traffic up 8.2% in October

Passenger numbers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) grew by 8.2% to 3.31 million in October compared with the corresponding month last year.

KLIA's domestic passenger numbers increased by 6.8% year on year to 963,000, while its international numbers rose by 8.8% to 2.34 million, says the airport's operator Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB).

At MAHB's other airports, passenger numbers grew by 7% to 2.22 million. Domestic passenger numbers rose by 7.9% to 1.84 million and international passenger numbers increased by 3% to 380,000.

Cargo movements at KLIA and other airports declined by 1.6% and 8.3% to 58,100t and 18,100t respectively.

KLIA's aircraft movements rose by 6% to 24,200 and aircraft movements at the other airports inched up by 0.4% to 30,700, adds MAHB.
