Indonesian low-cost carrier Mandala Airlines plans to launch three new services on 4 January 2013.

It will operate daily services from Surabaya to Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore using Airbus A320 aircraft, says the carrier.

Mandala will also add another A320 to its fleet in mid-December, increasing the total to five aircraft, adds the airline's spokeswoman.

Innovata schedules show that Mandala will compete with carriers such as Lion Air on the three routes.
