Indonesian low-cost carrier Mandala Airlines will launch two new services on 8 April.
The airline will operate daily services from Jakarta to Singapore and Denpasar using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Mandala has also confirmed that it will cease its daily Padang-Singapore service on the same date.
A spokesman for the airline says that the service is not being dropped because of poor loads but "the main reason is because of route evaluation and optimisation".
"As a growing airline, Mandala consistently reviews its route [network], including closing and opening up new routes. This is to ensure we provide the best service and options for our passengers," he adds.
Innovata schedules show that Mandala will compete with carriers such as Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air and Indonesia AirAsia on routes from Jakarta to Singapore and Denpasar.
