MC Aviation Partners (MCAP) has acquired a new Airbus A320 with sharklets from Austrian carrier Niki to place under a purchase and leaseback transaction.
The aircraft (MSN 5464) is powered by CFM International CFM56-5B4/3 PIP engines.
The acquisition was financed internally, says MCAP, and the operating lease term is five years.
The A320 is part of a two-aircraft transaction. The first aircraft (MSN 5115) closed in May 2012.
According to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database, Niki operates five A319s, 11 A320s, four A321s as well as seven Embraer 190s. The carrier has three more A320s on backlog.
