Bombardier has sealed a £150 million ($227 million) agreement with aerospace supplier Meggitt for regional and business aircraft carbon brakes.

The deal covers the supply of 'NuCarb' brakes which will be installed on Bombardier CRJ1000 aircraft.

Meggitt states that the brakes last longer than those built from conventional friction materials and also have less weight.

It says the agreement "maintains its leading position" in the wheels and brakes sector for regional aircraft with over 70 seats.
