Mesa Air Group has appointed former Comair head John Selvaggio as vice president of business development and resource planning.
“I’m delighted John has joined our team and will focus on fostering new relationships aimed at enlarging Mesa’s footprint and ensuring the continuous flow of critical resources to bolster our plans for growth,” says Mesa chief executive Jonathan Ornstein.
Selvaggio was most recently chief executive of start-up California Pacific Airlines, but he left the carrier in December 2013, says a Mesa Air spokesperson. California Pacific failed to receive air carrier certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration last year.
Selvaggio was formerly president and chief executive of Delta Air Lines-owned Comair from 2007 to 2009. He had also previously worked for American Airlines and US Airways.
